Den ljusa stjärnan lyste stickigt orange med en svagare blvit stjärna intill,
tjusigt!
Asteroidockultationer brukar ha en förmåga att mulna bort. Den här gången blev
det tvärtom. En timme före observationstidens början drog varmfrontsmoln upp
från väster och snart syntes bara de allra ljusaste stjärnorna. Efter en
halvtimme löstes de upp och kvar blev bara en molnskärm strax nedanför stjärnan
som skulle ockulteras. En halvtimme efter obstidens slut var himlen helmulen.
Snacka om tur med vädret!
Men det blev förstås ingen ockultation.

ASTEROIDOCKULTATION!
20:e gången gillt, Ate skötte sig! Sedan min premiär för observationer av asteroidockultationer på nyrsaftonen 1990 - den gången var det 205 Martha som ockulterade en stjärna av 6:e magnituden - så har det bara blivit negativa observationer. Hur många som mulnat bort under eller strax före observationstiden har jag ingen koll på.
Det lyckades alltså till slut att hamna inom den smala ockultationszonen,
och allting stämde: Himlen var så gott som helklar, stjärnan var ljus och
lätthittad, månen hann lagom gå ner, septembernatten var mild och behaglig,
och det var t.o.m. natt mellan lördag och söndag! Otroligt nog gick zonen
dessutom över en av mina och K G Anderssons vanliga observationsplatser.
Vi behövde inte ens åka till något nytt och obekant ställe. Det trodde jag
aldrig skulle inträffa!
